micro macro

My name is Erik and I'm a scientist, microscopist and photographer. I've been involved in science and education for about 20 years. After 10 years in academic research I am now working as an educational developer a science center in Stockholm, Sweden.

My interest and love for the microscopic world have been constantly developing during the past 10 years. During my time at the university,  I worked mostly with electron (TEM, SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Today, my big interest lies within the field of light microscopy and its various branches. I am well versed within most branches of science but my absolute edge lies somewhere in at the intersection of chemistry, surface science, solid state physics and material chemistry.

Since 2024, I micromacro.se as a part time business and would be thrilled to help you photograph, characterize and understand your materials at the smallest scale. I also take on other fun assignments like brainstorming and fact-checking science for books and television.
